Hi, I’m Kari. It’s nice to meet you.

I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my husband of 32 years and a nervous little dog. My three sons are all grown men with wonderful lives of their own, but of course they still hold a primary part of my being. I write, love, chaplain, minister and garden putting one day after another to build a beautiful life. I feel great joy and wonder accompanying folks as we seek to make meaning and find purpose.

In 2018 I began my studies at The Chaplaincy Institute, an Interfaith Seminary and Community in the Interfaith Studies program. In 2019 I began studies in ChI’s Spiritual Direction program. I was ordained in June of 2020 and anticipate certification as a Spiritual Director in the fall of 2020.

I write on spiritual topics and was published in  “To Wake, To Rise” as well as in the Worship Web, CLF’s Quest and the UU World’s Family Pages.

If you are seeking a creative, caring officiant for a wedding, memorial service or other passage of life, please reach out to me. I would love to be a part of your special day.

Speaking in congregations and from the pulpit, sharing all ages worship, leading workshops and facilitating discernment processes are my jam! If you or your group would like to bring me to your congregation or group to preach, lead or facilitate, please contact me! kari.kopnick (at)
